A Little About MeHi! I am a yoga teacher and teacher trainer originally from California and currently living in New York City. I earned my initial 500-hour certification through YogaWorks in NYC. I have also studied extensively with Annie Carpenter and am an Advanced SmartFLOW Graduate with over 500 hours of SmartFLOW training.
My classes use movement to cultivate mindfulness and create a space for self-inquiry. Through clear instruction, intelligent sequencing, and a down-to-earth style, I strive to create a warm and encouraging environment for students of all levels. In addition, I have training in myofascial release and can incorporate these techniques into classes and private sessions. An avid hiker, backpacker, and nature lover, I also lead YogaWalks, retreats, and workshops that integrate yoga, hiking, and nature as a way to facilitate connection and groundedness. In addition to teaching yoga, I have a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education and over 15 years of experience as a classroom teacher, teacher educator, and educational researcher. Teaching yoga provides the opportunity to combine my passion for yoga with my love of teaching, and I feel fortunate to be able to share this amazing practice with others. When not teaching yoga or playing outdoors, I spend my time designing colorful patterns for fabric and home decor. You can find some of my designs on Spoonflower. |
